What we’re known for
From everyday paper and plastic recycling to specialist streams, these are the materials we handle most.
Paper recycling
Office paper, print waste and mixed paper collected and sent to our chosen paper mills, with rebates paid on good grades.
LDPE film
Stretch wrap, shrink film, printed converter reels and production scrap, bought at competitive rates.
Polypropylene (PP)
Crates, trays, film and production waste collected and processed at our site, paying for good grades.
Engineering plastics
ABS, polycarbonate, nylon, acetal, acrylic and PBT production waste bought from moulders and manufacturers.
Book & print waste
Secure destruction of unsold stock and print works trim for publishers and printers, with rebates paid on good grades.
Beer crates for breweries
Old crates collected and granulated so your branding is destroyed, with a rebate paid. We take kegs, casks and pallets too.
Council wheelie bins
End-of-life wheelie bins recycled for local authorities across the UK.
Mill-size balers
Balers for LDPE film and cardboard, so material that costs you money in general waste earns a rebate instead.
How it works
1. Tell us what you have
The material, roughly how much (tonnes per month or per load), whether it’s baled or loose, and your postcode.
2. We quote
A rebate for good grades, or a collection price for mixed material. Not sure what you have? Book a free waste audit.
3. We collect
RORO skips, curtain-side rigid and articulated vehicles, as one-off loads, regular collections or milk-round pick-ups.
4. You’re paid
Rebates paid on agreed terms, with full paperwork for your records and certificates of destruction for secure work.
Where we collect: regularly across Leicestershire, Nottinghamshire, Derbyshire, Lincolnshire and Northamptonshire, and across England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland for loads of around 5 tonnes or more. We don’t collect single bags or wheelie bins of general waste.
Recycling for business, from our own site in Leicestershire
Acorn Recyclers is a family-run cardboard, paper and plastic recycling company based near Loughborough, Leicestershire. We have been in the industry for over 50 years, collecting from businesses and local authorities across the East Midlands and, for larger loads, the rest of the UK.
We work with single sites, multi-site businesses and councils, from one-off site clearances to regular collections and total waste management. Where material has a value we pay for it. Where it doesn’t, we quote a fair price to take it away.
Our free site survey looks at what you produce and how it is stored, then sets out what could be recycled, what it is worth and where you could save money.
As well as paper, card and plastics, we handle confidential waste, wood, metals and wheelie bins and crates. See our recycling services for the full list.
