Commercial Recycling in Northampton
Recycling and waste management for Northampton businesses
Northampton is one of the busiest distribution locations in the country, and the warehouses at Brackmills, Moulton Park and along the M1 get through huge amounts of cardboard, pallet wrap and plastic packaging. Manufacturers and retailers across the town add to it.
Acorn Recyclers collects from businesses across Northampton and recycles the material at our own yard at Wymeswold in Leicestershire. Northamptonshire is one of our core collection areas, and because we process everything ourselves we can pay rebates on clean, well-separated grades.
What we collect in Northampton
- Cardboard from distribution centres and goods-in areas
- Pallet wrap, stretch film and polythene bags
- Plastic crates, totes, trays and pallets
- Paper, office waste and print waste
- Confidential paper for secure shredding
Collections that fit your site
For distribution sites we can supply a mill-size baler or compactor on hire, then collect full loads of bales on curtain-side rigids or articulated trailers. Sites with less material can use RORO skips. Collections can be scheduled or called off when you’re ready.
Turn packaging waste into income
If you’re paying a general waste contractor to take away cardboard and film, you may be throwing money away. Separating cardboard, plastics and paper and baling them can turn a cost into a rebate. Start with a free waste audit.
Northampton recycling FAQs
Do you cover the rest of Northamptonshire?
Yes. We collect from Northampton, Wellingborough, Daventry, Kettering, Corby and sites across the county. See our Northamptonshire recycling page.
Is there a minimum quantity?
Collections in Northampton are arranged around what your site produces. Baled material, or a full skip or trailer, gives the best price per tonne. For sites outside the East Midlands, loads generally need to be around 5 tonnes or more.
Do you pay for cardboard and plastic?
We pay rebates on good, clean, separated grades. The rate depends on the material, quantity and market prices at the time, and we confirm it before we collect.
Do you collect general waste or single wheelie bins?
No. We don’t run refuse vehicles, so we can’t empty general waste bins or collect single bags. We focus on recyclable materials collected by skip, rigid lorry or trailer. We can also take confidential paper for secure shredding.
