Commercial Recycling in Melton Mowbray
Recycling and waste management for Melton Mowbray businesses
Melton Mowbray is known for food production and farming, and both produce a lot of packaging: cardboard, shrink film, plastic trays and crates, and bags. Acorn Recyclers collects from food producers, manufacturers and rural businesses around Melton, and recycles at our yard at Wymeswold, around 12 miles to the west.
We sort, bale and granulate material ourselves, so clean, separated grades can earn a rebate rather than cost you money.

Melton Mowbray recycling FAQs
Do you collect from farms and rural sites?
Yes, as long as there is safe access for our vehicles. Tell us what you produce and where, and we’ll suggest the best collection option.
Is there a minimum quantity?
Collections in Melton Mowbray are arranged around what your site produces. Baled material, or a full skip or trailer, gives the best price per tonne. For sites outside the East Midlands, loads generally need to be around 5 tonnes or more.
Do you pay for cardboard and plastic?
We pay rebates on good, clean, separated grades. The rate depends on the material, quantity and market prices at the time, and we confirm it before we collect.
Do you collect general waste or single wheelie bins?
No. We don’t run refuse vehicles, so we can’t empty general waste bins or collect single bags. We focus on recyclable materials collected by skip, rigid lorry or trailer.
