What We Recycle

Acorn Recyclers is a second-generation, family-owned recycling company based at Wymeswold, near Loughborough. With over 50 years in the industry and the founder still involved in running the business, we recover and reprocess waste plastics, paper and cardboard for businesses across Leicestershire, the East Midlands and the wider UK.

If your material is listed on this page, we can almost certainly take it. If it is not, it is still worth asking. We handle a wider range than most businesses expect, and a free site survey usually turns up recoverable material that is currently going into general waste at a cost to you.

Plastics we recycle

We process a broad range of commercial and industrial polymers at our facility:

• PS – Polystyrene, and HIPS – High Impact Polystyrene

• PVC – Polyvinyl Chloride

We also take rigid plastics, including wheelie bins and crates – whole, damaged or at end of life. For councils and local authorities replacing a fleet of bins, we run a dedicated end-of-life wheelie bin service.

Paper and cardboard we recycle

We collect, sort and bale all grades of paper and cardboard at our facility.

Cardboard is one of the highest-volume materials most businesses produce, and one of the easiest to recover value from. Where volumes justify it, baling on your own site usually pays for itself – we hire and sell balers, and we will tell you honestly if your volumes do not warrant one.

Beyond paper and plastic

Through our total waste management service we also arrange the disposal and recovery of industrial waste, confidential waste, wood and metals, so you can deal with one contractor rather than several. Confidential material is handled through our secure shredding service.
