We say we cover the whole of the UK, and we often get asked how that works when we are based near Loughborough. The short answer is that it comes down to the size of the load.
Based in the middle of the country
Our site is at Wymeswold, near Loughborough, close to the M1 and right in the middle of England. Naturally, most of our regular customers are within easy reach, in:
- Leicestershire
- Nottinghamshire
- Derbyshire
- Lincolnshire
- Northamptonshire
For these areas we can collect regularly and at short notice.
Larger loads: anywhere in the UK
For loads of 5 tonnes or more, we collect from anywhere in England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland. At that size, the material is worth moving, and distance stops being the deciding factor.
If you are further away and are not sure whether your volumes qualify, ask us. We will tell you straight.
The vehicles we run
We can cover the country because of the type of transport we operate:
- Roll-on roll-off (RORO) skips for bulky or loose material
- Curtain-side rigid vehicles for baled or palletised material
- Articulated curtain-siders for full loads
- Milk round collections, where one vehicle collects from several customers on a route, so smaller sites can share a load
What we cannot collect
We do not collect single bags or wheelie bins of commercial waste. That is a job for refuse collection vehicles, which we do not operate. If that is what you need, a local general waste contractor will be better suited.
If you produce a steady amount of film, plastic or cardboard, though, it may be worth separating it out. With a baler on site or bulk containers, that material can be collected by us and earn a rebate instead of going in general waste.
But we do recycle the wheelie bins themselves
While we do not empty wheelie bins, we do recycle them. We take end-of-life wheelie bins from many local authorities, whole, damaged or at the end of their life, and granulate them back into material for new products. See our council wheelie bin recycling service.
